The important part of draught proofing French Doors is understanding which way the door opens. There are basically three different mechanisms:

1. Fit Draught Dodgers to the perimeter of the doors
2. Fit EMV to the astragal (centre of door)
3. ONLY if inward opening doors, fit compressive seal to edge of the sill threshold
4. Fit RP5s to the bottom of the doors on the outside if outward opening or on the inside if inward opening

● The kits are able to be fitted to most formats of French doors
* Perimeter gap around doors between 2mm and 10mm
* Centre gap between doors of 2mm to 7mm
* Bottom gap up to 14mm
● Components are long lasting components — provided the door is out of direct weather
● Components are easy to cut with a hack saw

● Cut the top Draught Dodger at the centre if the 2 doors don’t align
● Follow the sequence for installation
● Make sure they are in the RIGHT PLACE before committing the component to the door

● Don’t rush — make sure you have plenty of time
● Self adhesive components are good, but once they are on, they are on!
Don’t fit the draught dodger without using the fitting packer

Incorrect measurement — measure twice, cut once

Not using the compressive seal inward opening doors (Type B)

Insufficient / incorrect surface preparation

When there is a surface mounted bolt on an inward opening door the RP5 has to be cut to edge of bolt. There will be a small RP5 component on the other side of the bolt which will need to be screw fixed.
