  • Brushes can be an easy and relatively effective option to seal the bottom of a door onto a hard surface.*
  • There are different brush lengths to suit most gap sizes.
  • If the home is in a windy area use an automatic bottom door excluder.

   *Best used for internal doors and external timber sliding doors.

GENERAL NOTES

  • All are self adhesive, but some can be screw fixed.
  • Mostly, do not use over carpet.
  • Brushes are ALWAYS black - no other brush colour choices.
  • The ‘colour’ refers to the carrier.
 ANATOMY OF A BRUSH 
A brush seal has two components:

 A.  CARRIER
the aluminium section that has the self adhesive tape on the back and a groove for the brush pile to fit into

 B.  BRUSH PILE
comes in different lengths

The larger brushes (RP74, RP15 and RP57) are more easily screw fixed.

OVERVIEW

● Self adhesive brush seal

● Suitable for fitting externally

● Most suited to a timber sliding door to seal the trailing edge

● A short 13mm brush pile

● 1000mm long

● Carrier available in Bronze or Silver

● Tall carrier that makes for easy screw fixing

PERFORMANCE

Not normally used on metal or aluminium doors

Suitable for screw fixing, but does not come with screws or holes

Good surface preparation required if not being screw fixed

Do not adhere to oiled or alkyd finishes, or easy clean wash and wear painted surfaces

Fire rated to highest rating - BAL FSZ when used on a garage or on an approved side hung fire door in accordance with AS 3959

Warranty: 2 years on seals. No warranty on self adhesive products

 TOP 6 MISTAKES

Incorrect measurement of the width of the door.*

Trying to trim the brush to a shorter length.

Poor surface preparation.

Cutting the brush with a saw.*
Use side cutters or cutting part of pliers instead.

Not sealing end of the carrier after trimming.*

Screw fixing too high. Don’t screw fix too high above bottom of the door as hollow core doors only have a small piece of solid timber in which to fix the brush.
